Women come to New York for the two L's

People who know me well put up with the (annoying) fact that I quote Sex and the City lines at any given moment. I’m sure I am not the only one when saying that we’ve probably all learned lots about style, friendships and love from these iconic women through the series and I will never tire of watching the episodes again and again. This time seeing places I can actually say “oh, I’ve been there, too!”.

Having a look at her apartment from Perry Street? Checked off my bucket list!

These streets were made for walking

When opting for closed toe flats, I usually go for - surprise, surprise - boots in fall/winter and ballet flats in spring/summer. Apart from my on/off love affair with Converse, which never felt comfortable I must admit, I wanted to find sneakers that felt truly me. Maybe a bizarre thing to say about sneakers but browsing UrbanPeople's website I couldn't take my eyes off these New Balance one's in Burgundy

N for New Balance, or New York, or Nesli...

Either way, these were the perfect footgear to move about the concrete paths of New York.

I highly recommend to check out their online shop - great selection and very fast delivery.

blickfang design exhibition 2014

The international design exhibition blickfang is currently open in Basel (only until Sunday, May 11th). Having already been to the fair in Zurich, I already knew I’d like the concept: to present new and exciting products from many facets of lifestyle such as fashion, jewellery, accessories and interior design all together in one inspiring and curated environment.

True Colours Vases by Lex Pott. Selected by Mette Hay as young designer to watch.

The Swiss label Wilhelm Teller creates artful étagères since 2010. Each one is unique - handmade from carefully selected plates and locally produced stems designed by Wilhelm Teller.

Contemporary, delicate and feminine jewellery by Charlotte Wooning. Let's just say I didn't leave her stand empty-handed.

I spent a decent amount of time at Soeder's stand. These colorful carafes with unique cork stoppers lured me to their stand to be honest. Talking to the very nice seller I learned that they have a store in Zurich which I hadn't noticed before but absolutely loved everything they displayed at blickfang. The collective behind Soeder design and sell high quality and aesthetic objects, produced in Switzerland whenever possible. Have a look at their online shop or check out the store in Zurich. I'll definitely head over there next time I'm in town.

Klybeck offers stylish and useful furniture in innovative and unexpected ways. Baptiste Ducommun, carpenter and designer, designs and produces furniture in his own workshop in Basel. He showcaed his coathanger/sculpture "Y" which I'd love to have in my own apartment as well as "YY", a modern antler and original coathanger.
