The quest for hairlessness: Testing the Babyliss Homelight Face & Body

Spring will soon be upon us…
and if you’re anything like us, you probably might do a closet detox and get rid of what you don’t need any more - maybe add some fun pastel colored garments to keep feeling your older stuff still current and fresh. When the weather gets warmer and we’re sort of in a haze sprucing everything up from our closets to our homes we don’t make an exception when it comes to our bodies.

They get scrubbed and thoroughly moisturized to make up for what was a bit neglected during the colder months. Once you removed your body hair with the weapon of your choice, your former dry and flaky legs are moisturized, smooth and ready to go bare-legged for the first time this year, you’ll want to keep this state forever. Let’s be totally open about it: hair removal is probably our least favorite personal care activity but it is just a necessity.

Each year when the seasons are changing we ask ourselves what is the best method for hair removal - preferably lasting - having tried practically everything that exists: shaving, waxing, sugaring, epilating – often combining them to achieve the best results. One thing we haven’t tried so far was laser or IPL (intense pulsed light), which intrigued us a lot as you don’t have to go to salons anymore and there is a variety of home lasers available, one of them being this Babyliss Homelight Face & Body, model no. 930.

We've always liked to take matters into our own hands, so here we are a couple of weeks into testing this at home laser. As they say it takes at least four sessions (two weeks apart) to see first results, we need at least two months before we can report back how it worked for us. The reviews we've read so far are very promising and our hopes are high that Babyliss Homelight will convince us. So far we can say that it's definitely less painful and messy than waxing/sugaring/epilating but it takes longer than just swiping a razor - but it would be totally worth it if it means having lasting smooth skin.

Do any of you have experiences to share with hair removal by pulsed light? We'll definitely let you know how it worked on us in the upcoming weeks.

Until the light began to fade

Some snapshots while running errands in Zurich a week ago and meeting up with friends.
Even though you can't really tell from these pictures, I really liked mixing the striped sweater with checkered trousers. A comfortable outfit in which I felt very much like myself, not being very adventourous sartorial-wise as of late (or maybe always).

Blazer: vintage
Sweater: COS
Trousers: Zara
Leather tote: bought in a local shop in Florence
Booties: Manor

Styleseeking Zurich in Berlin

It’s been a while since we’ve been to Berlin but we would still like to share some impressions from our two day stay in this eclectic city. Despite the harsh wind we've had so much fun discovering the city day and night, ending up in cute diners, cozy cafés, mysterious bars and legendary clubs...

Definitely a trip to remember!
