Summer to me means food-wise that all my favorite fruits are available. I love peaches and apricots; sweet as in yogurt topped with granola and maple syrup or hearty on a pizza. Last year I saw this post on Joy the baker and was so impressed with how simple yet so delicious summer dessert could be, I decided this recipe is going to be made multiple times this summer.
Dip apricot halves in sugar and place in a oven safe dish.
Bake the apricots in the oven for about 5 minutes until the sugar melts, boils and begins to brown. I used the grill mode of my oven and placed the apricots in the upper half.
In a small bowl, mix honey into mascarpone. Top slightly cooled apricots with a dollop of mascarpone mixture, and a sprinkling of fresh mint and enjoy!
As you can see I let the apricots this time a bit longer in the oven so the fruit didn't stay firm but I actually loved these soft, messy piles of goodness. You can do either way, they always taste great.
Have a great Sunday, I'm off enjoying the afternoon at the pool and trying to get a bit of a tan.

Doesn't this top look like the pattern on antique blue & white china? Paired with this crisp white blazer this is what I wore to work yesterday. After what felt like a neverending rain period things are finally looking up. TGIF!

I honestly can't remember when it was the last time I showed my bare nails in public. With all the fun colors around I change my nail polish multiple times a week. Don't you just love it when they add an eye-catching detail to your look and even change your mood? Normally I'm more the classic type, reds and very light pinks being my favorites. But every now and then - especially in summer - I embrace other colors as well. Right now I'm wearing L'Oréal Color Riche in 303 Lush Tangerine, of which you'll see a glimpse in tomorrow's outfit post. The rather new Color Riche Le Vernis* are a bit on the thicker side and apply very opaque, plus they're quite inexpensive. Which color is your must-have for this summer?

Being back in Zurich feels good. Even though I took up work the day after I landed, totally jetlagged and still in a completely different mindset, it surprises me how quickly one adjusts to everyday life. I'm feeling giddy thinking about al fresco dining with friends and hot days spent by the pool. Hope the weather forecast stays the way it is so I can do just that this weekend. Here's what I wore last Saturday...

As I went back to autumn during my vacation, I brought with me two staples that were so useful. First of all there is my Saidi shawl, which functions as a blanket on the plane to keep you warm during (long-haul) flights. Even though this particular model Abu Ghazala is quite large, you can wrap it around your shoulders and neck beautifully. Honestly I have never been complimented this much on a shawl before. It might not be the time to purchase this in the northern hemisphere right now as what we need here are really cool sunglasses. I've never had classical pilot glasses before but absolutely loved this model the minute I tried it on. The iconic American Optical Original Pilot has a very prominent history and let's be honest, if they're good enough for Don Draper, they're good enough for you...

As people who follow me on Twitter an Instagram (@nesdem, I posted lots of pictures there!) already know, I was on vacation for two weeks. I went to visit my boyfriend who’s been away from home the past six months to travel the world. His blog naturally was the first thing I checked in the morning with a cup of coffee, dreaming to be wherever he was and to see the all the places he captures so beautifully with his camera with my own eyes. I met him in Santiago de Chile mid May and we backpacked two weeks to various cities in Chile and Argentina. From Santiago to Valparaiso, Mendoza, Maipu, Salta, Cachi, Cafayate, Puerto Iguazu and finally Buenos Aires. I saw breathtaking landscapes, ate delicious food but above all, savoured every minute I spent with my love. Obviously I can’t show you travel/outfit pictures like from last year’s vacation as my backpack only allowed the neccessary. So I leave you with lots of impressions of my two weeks and promise to return with more styleseeking posts very soon…
