Stella Fashion Night: Cathy Pill

Drawing inspiration from the architecture of Brussels, Cathy Pill's creations feature a wealth of charming Art Nouveau ornaments. The 26-year-old designer works with printed fabrics which she combines to create asymmetric, feminine silhouettes. While studying at the La Cambre fashion school in Brussels she did internships with Vivienne Westwood and Belgian label A. F. Vandevorst.
Cathy Pill has won a whole array of prizes, including the newcomers award Andam, and in 2006 the Les Arts Décoratifs fashion and textile museum in Paris showed her first prêt-à-porter summer collection. Even though Cathy Pill has become a firm feature of Paris Fashion Week, she says she has absolutely no intention of moving: "Brussels is so wonderfully cosmopolitan".
